Activity: Fractions Basketball!

–

How to play:

  • –Students take turns at shooting 10 times with a basketball into a basketball ring. Students will record how many times they score or miss.

  • –Once all of the students have collected their data they will represent the data in a graph.

  • –From here they write statements about their graph. For example, I missed 2 out of 4 shots, I scored on half of my throws, I scored 2 quarters of my shots.

  • –Students then compare their graphs to determine who got the most goals.

–Why play bingo:

–This game is great for helping students relate fractions to real life often this will assist students to make more sense of them.
