Activity: Fractions Bingo!

–

How to play:

  • –Before we begin this activity students need to colour in their bingo sheets as desired. Each square must have at least one portion coloured in.

  • The bingo caller will then roll two die, the results will determine the call. The caller must ensure that they call the smaller number before the larger. For example if a 5 and a 2 were rolled the students would cross off a square with two fifths coloured in.

  • Only one square can be crossed off per call.

  • Once a student has crossed off every square in a row or column they can call Bingo to win the game.

–

–Why play bingo:

–Playing fractions bingo allows students to revise their fractions under a little bit of fun pressure. Students can relate what they are hearing to the visual representations they have drawn.
