Activity: Fractions War!

–

How to play:

  • –Students split the deck of fractions cards in half. Cards are placed face down in front of the player.

  • –Students simultaneously  place their top card in the centre, whoever has the highest value wins both cards.

  • –If the cards of equivalent value there is a war. During a war students place two cards in the centre, one face up and the other face down. Whoever placed the card of the highest value face up wins all four cards and the game continues as normal.

  • –The winner is the person left with the entire deck.

Why play fractions war:

–This game is a great way for kids to compare and evaluate fractions to determine their value.
